“Several users have been identified and will be summoned as part of the police inquiry to provide clarification, and all individuals mentioned in the phone taps will be summoned to explain themselves,” said delegate Jackson Ribas.
According to delegate Jackson Ribas, head of the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit (DEIC), the phone taps that led to the arrest of Giulhierme Oliveira Simões, 27, last Tuesday, the 5th, and his brothers Marcelo Oliveira Simões, 25, and Vinicius Oliveira Simões, 26, and accomplice Gledson Cris Aguiar de Sousa, 34, arrested yesterday, indicate the involvement of a doctor and public servants. “What drew our attention were certain users asking for drugs, some of them public servants, working in public places, and this will be thoroughly investigated,” said the delegate.
According to the delegate, the investigations began after public complaints. “The public denounced drug trafficking in the city, and due to the intensity of the trafficking, we requested the appropriate judicial measures, including phone interceptions, and began monitoring the individuals’ movements,” said the delegate.
The first arrest occurred last Tuesday when Giulhierme was receiving 186 grams of cocaine. “On Tuesday, we intercepted a conversation where Giulhierme was expecting drugs to arrive in a van coming from Palmas, and they would receive it here in the city. We waited for its arrival and arrested him with 186 grams,” said Jackson.
The involvement of the Simões brothers and Gledyson in trafficking, according to the delegate, was confirmed before carnival through phone interceptions. “It appears they were part of a carnival block's board and assisted in its organization. Because of this, we deployed police officers into the blocks before carnival to monitor all their movements. This work has been carried out by the police since carnival time, and we achieved success about 20 days after carnival,” said the delegate. “They are influential figures in drug trafficking in the city,” he added.
Involvement of a doctor from Gurupi
Another fact that drew significant attention was the appearance of a doctor in the recordings (SEE DIALOGUE BELOW) who demonstrated consuming cocaine while on duty. “I didn't sleep at all yesterday, man. I left a health post and now I’m at the emergency room, man. I can barely walk. Save me. I can barely walk, man. I haven't slept since yesterday… Give me five, quick. Save me, man, I'm feeling bad, man,” one of the recordings states.
“Several users have been identified and will be summoned as part of the police inquiry to provide clarification, and all individuals mentioned in the phone taps will be summoned to explain themselves,” said the delegate.
According to the delegate, there are other individuals who have already been identified and are under investigation. “As soon as we have conclusive evidence that allows us to take a precautionary measure to remove these individuals from circulation, the police will certainly act,” he said.
Part of Guilhierme’s dialogue with the doctor:
Doctor: Do you know how many births I assisted last night? Four births and a cesarean, man.
Giulhierme: Damn, man.
Doctor: I didn't sleep at all yesterday, man. I left a health post and now I’m at the emergency room, man. I can barely walk. Save me. I can barely walk, man. I haven't slept since yesterday.
Giulhierme: For f**k's sake, are you kidding me? You just finished, you know.
Doctor: Hmm!
Giulhierme: The deal is done.
Doctor: But get me some.
Giulhierme – I'll get some for you. How much?
Doctor – At least four.
Giulhierme – Alright then, alright.
Doctor – Give me five, quick. Save me, man, I'm feeling bad, man.
Giulhierme – I'll call you.
Doctor: Thanks, Giulhierme. Appreciate it.
