A man who doesn't give up on finding his
son even after almost 40 years without
concrete clues, the father of scout
Marco Aurélio, who disappeared on Pico dos
Marins in São Paulo, participated in an
event this weekend to demand
answers. At 85 years old, Ivo was moved
to tears by watching a snippet of the
unreleased documentary from Play Plus about
this mystery. The city of Piquete, in the
interior of São Paulo, relived the story of a
search that has lasted 38 years. An event
called "I'm looking for Marco Aurélio" gathered
important figures involved in the greatest
mystery of a missing child in Brazil. Marco
Aurélio's father, Ivo Simon, still hasn't
given up on looking for his son, whom he
believes is still alive. "I will never stop
searching," he says. The 15-year-old teenager
disappeared on Pico dos Marins, on the
border of the states of São Paulo and Minas
Gerais, without leaving any clues. The
documentary "38 Years: A Father's Saga in
Search of His Son" tells the behind-the-scenes
story of Marco Aurélio's disappearance. At
the event, our team showed Seu Ivo a small
clip from the documentary.
"I feel comforted that I see that I'm not
alone anymore." On the big screen, the video
also took by surprise those who closely follow
the family's drama. "Yes, in this case, Marco
Aurélio, even if at some point we reach the
need to archive the inquiry, it is possible that
this procedure can be transformed into an
administrative procedure for locating Marco
Aurélio. This will certainly continue until the
moment of his location or the closing of the
case." Watch now a clip from the unreleased
documentary.

Disappeared.
Yes, the group would arrive here at this
point, we would check in, climb the peak
to where Marco Aurélio disappeared. We
knew that each day that passed, the situation
would worsen. We are identical twins. It was
the first time something happened in
scouting that we weren't together. "Also, don't
go up the Marin without a guide." It was two
or three whistles, Marco would answer, and
then he stopped answering. "I understand that
there was no crime. I, the father, did not have
the discernment to understand that I was
handing my children over to an incompetent
person." Maybe one day the campaign will
ring, I will answer.
And the documentary "38 Years: A Father's
Saga in Search of His Son" is now available
on Play Plus. You can access Record's digital
platform from wherever you are. Just point
your cell phone to the QR code on the screen.
